The request menu

Bring me something that needs another look.

This isn't a rigid catalogue. These examples help you decide whether your request might fit. Each job is considered individually, and I won't pretend to be the right person for everything.

๐Ÿ“š

Read or review material

Independent reader feedback on books, chapters, reports, proposals, guides and other written work. We agree whether you want a general reader's response, clarity feedback, structure comments or a focused review.

Not automatically included: proofreading, copy-editing, fact-checking or specialist literary editing.

๐Ÿ’ญ

A second opinion

Send an idea, decision, draft or problem. Receive an independent view, practical questions and suggestions about what to consider next.

๐Ÿงฉ

Workflow, spreadsheet or database

Describe a process that isn't working as intended. I may be able to help identify unnecessary steps, clarify requirements or suggest improvements. Small FileMaker and spreadsheet issues may be suitable if the scope is clear.

๐Ÿ”Ž

Research and information

A defined information-gathering task, comparison or research question. We agree the question and limits before starting; this is not an open-ended research subscription.

โœ๏ธ

Writing and publishing questions

Practical feedback on presentation, reader clarity, document organisation or a self-publishing question. Technical or specialist work is accepted only where the requirements fit my experience.

๐Ÿชด

Something else?

Explain it in your own words. If it sounds suitable, we'll define the job. If not, I'll say so before you commit.

Scope before price

Small, clear jobs are best to start.

Some requests may suit a fixed fee. Others need a quote after I understand the material, expected outcome and deadline. You can always decline the proposal.
